Hello all!

I have some seven week old silkie chicks and they are still under a light.

I know they probably don't need it, but they seem to lay under it still.

They are inside our attic, which is heated/cooled to the temperature of our house, but it is fairly dark up there without the light.

Thanks!

Do you keep the light on at night? If they don't need the light for heat at night, you might want to turn it off so they get used to the darkness. Also you'll avoid some feather pecking.
When do you plan to move them outside?

Well i have been keeping the light on 24/7.

We are currently in the process of building the coop, and it should be ready by thanksgiving.

However, we are leaving town then, so I am debating whether i should keep them in the house until we get back??

I am kind of apprehensive when it comes to first putting them in the coop when i am not at home to watch them.
