Heat Lamp or Heating Plate?

I am using the Brinsea ecoglow which uses radiant heat. I love it! The downside is getting the legs off to clean has proven to be bit difficult. I am looking at the premier 1 right now. It looks promising and I've seen many people using it on this site.
Looks like the Premier1 is a little less expensive too.

I searched high and low, and could not find the wattage used by the SunbeamXL. However, it heats a foot print approximately 12 x 24, less if being bent into the typical U shaped form. You would loose about 2" from each end, so about 12 x 20. I'm guessing that the wattage used would vary depending on whether it was used on high or low setting. (It has 6 settings) I also assume that it would cycle on and off to maintain the temp that the thermostat was set at.
Wattage/amperage is always printed on any electrical device. It could be on the cord, tag, etc.. But no electrical device is sold in the USA without voltage and power usage printed on it somewhere.

Here is my rat's heating pad's info:

Yep, the heating pad I have is 50w on "high". That's important information to have if you brood out in the freezing cold like I do. If you're someone who will always have chicks in your house, you can use a lower setting on the heating pad or a lower wattage heat plate that has no regulator. But, the EcoGlow specifically states that it is for use with a minimum ambient temperature of 50F. It's really not meant for Spring outdoor use.
