Heat lamp question...

my DH changes the wattage of the bulbs, we progress through them

start with heat lamp
change to 100 w bulb
then to a 75
then to a 60
then to a 40
then no more

You could go to a 25 if they need something but we usually have them outside by then.

Thanks for the suggestion. Do you keep each wattage for a week?

I have a 150 w brooder bulb I got from Lowes, maybe I will downgrade to that first and then drop to a regular 100 watt bulb.

Now I am scared to lose more. My month old standard chicks did fine without the heat lamp inside. Guess these guys are just too fragile.
