Heat lamp

Do chicken coops need heat lamps?! My chicks will be in my basement until they are bigger of course, I live in Colorado Springs and our winters can get cold. It sounds stupid but I'm new to this

There are actually a number of reasons not to use heat lamps in a chicken coop.
