Heat lamps in July

We just received our baby chicks today and I was wondering if they need to be under a heat lamp in this heat. It's extremely hot (in the 90's) in Akron, OH and I don't want to bake my chicks. We already have 22 other chickens but we have already gone through the peep process with all of them and they were during the winter months so we definitely needed the lamps during that time.
I want to make sure I am doing the right thing. Please help???

In my opinion, they don't need a heat lamp cause it is in the 90's.
My chicks are outside in a grassy pen. With NO heat lamp

It's common sense, actually. Chicks will lose body heat if it's a lot cooler than 90F. But when the ambient temp is close to their own body temp (100F), they won't lose any body heat. Therefore, they do not need a heat source under which to warm themselves.

I watched my one-day old chicks romp around their outdoor brooding pen for hours without any apparent discomfort at 70F. They had a heating pad cave, but rarely used it until the chill of the still short early May afternoon set in.

PLEASE, make sure you make sure that grass pen is safe. Chicks are very fragile, as you probably already know.
