Heat/Light 24/7?

Omnivore is the correct term

Anyway, I use a 250watt red heat lamp on a thermostat. Keeps the temp within a 1/2* of where I set the thermostat. Works like a charm, and every week I can lower the temp on the thermostat instead of finding the right height for the light. It's the easy way to do it. The setup costs more, but worth every bit of it for the chicks health not to mention my time.

Ours never had any problems sleeping with an infared light 24/7, although I did notice they seemed to like sleeping in the shadow of their waterer, so I got a shoe box and cut out the sides to make a "table" for them to sleep underneath in shadow.

Some people recommend hanging a clean feather duster for them to sleep under.

Sorry for the hijack, I would like to know more about that thermostat setup. I have a 250 watt heat lamp as well, but on a reostat.
