you know we have hot summers in OK, the NH Reds today at 90 degrees seemed panting and hot. I gave them a frozen ear of corn and they loved it. So, what do you think, still no eggs, I'll take photos but I'm beginning to wonder if they were younger then they were suppose to be when they came here. I'll take photos tomorrow to compare, I do think they are growing and healthy, but don't know if they've gained the hens comb and wattle and color yet, thought one was 'squatting' a couple days ago. But that was a Barred Rock and I was told the Reds should lay first.

So they still all want to sit together at the coop door at night, I did fix them a low roost closer to the door and think because of poop they spend some time on it. There are more vents in the rafters of the coop up near the roost pole? Anyway do you think i should fix a screen door over the nest boxes, it would leave the door as a 'porch roof' that i could close if it was stormy.??

what do you think?
