Heat plate and poults

New turkey mom here. I got 3 Bourbon Red poults last evening. I have them in a brooder with chicks and a heat plate. They love the heat plate, but will not come out to eat and drink. Any advice?

Try placing the food and water at the edge of the heat plate.
