Heat plate vs MHP in HOT southern US weather

I’m raising my chicks outside since they arrived from the hatchery last week and i had made a diy brooder and was all excited to see the use it .. they never did. Not even the first night they arrived they are outside in a well ventilated chicken coop that i have under my porch. I do turn on a fan during the day since temps her are 100+ and 80s at night and get cold water too. They seem to be hot during our hottest part if the day so I been also providing with electrolytes. So far they’re doing good.

Thank you everybody for all the replies - everybody has a different situation and found what works for them. I am home all day and will watch the extreme weather heat. This threesome is going to be very spoiled !
