Heat Tolerant Run/Coop in the CA

Watery poop is not unusual, they drink more water when it's hot.
Shade, shade, shade.
Large shallow pans with ice cubes, they can sip as it melts, and stand in it to cool feet(might have to 'show them' how to do this).
I give some chick saver electrolytes every other day, just mix a quart for 25 birds, in late afternoon.
I just lost one of my girls now i only have 2 left :(

We are also in SoCal and it has been hard on our 4 girls. We draped a blue tarp over the top of their run for shade, included a shallow tub of water for wading if they want it. Also been adding Pedialyte to their water to keep their electrolytes up. This can be purchased at any grocery store or pharmacy in the baby care section. Just get the original clear unflavored kind.

Also, Just purchased this mister on Amazon and it was a $20 well spent. Prime shipping got it to me free in 2 days. Just hook it up to your waterhose and point it into the run. I live in So Cal and it has been in the 100's. My property is not very shaded so what we have done is added a shade to their run and in the early mornings we wet down the run, while the girls are out free ranging. that way the wet dirt helps to keep the area cooler when it warms up. Since they free range all day and only go the their yard in the evenings we have areas around where they have been hiding from the heat, adding dog bowls filled with ice water. they have been doing pretty good with this so far. We also have a soda bottle waterer that we put in the freezer at night and hang it in the run in the morning. We keep a water dish in their coop as well for when they are in their laying or going to bed. I am adding 2 more vents to the coop to help with air flow for during the day that will be closable when (if) it gets cold again.
