Heat Warning Today, 99 in the Shade

I will be in Charlotte NC next week from Tuesday am to the following Monday. Going from mid 70's, light and breezy to whatever you all are having. I will probably need gatorade IV all week! I hope it cools down for this delicate Oregon flower.

Saw something kind of unexpected the other day. Our chickens are loose. They have access to water when ever they want it. But, we noticed that they were drinking from the A/C drain! Went and checked it out,,,it is very cool!

Another record day --- 108.9 was the high here.
The weatherfolks were expecting a break in the heat by today, but the temps keep climbing. It's getting freaky to me.
Summertime in the South is one thing, and we expect heat and humidity, but this is off-the-charts hot.
I'm thankful all my critters have shady runs.
It makes me wonder how a person that has a single brain cell would leave any creature in a car in these temps.

Our heat finally broke.The funny think is today temp high was 79, and by dinner time droped to 60. Now ya need a Jacket!!!! Tell me that's not messed up. From 100's to 60's in 24 hrs. Kinda spooky :| The rest of the week temps are going to be in the mid to upper 80's. I'll take it.

I hope everyone else gets releif soon too.

Its hot and sticky here in Nebraska - but we had an AMAZING thunderstorm come through this evening, cooled it down some, but we're due for 100 tomorrow (down to the basement we go!)
