heat wave loss - our saltwater 55 gall tank... I'm upset...

no problem, that is one of my alpacas (Hope) just after she got shorn for the year. They look like q-tips and/or a whole different animal without the fleece on!

I thought it was a bear-looking head which was cut off an email & stuck on a stake! LOL OMG...that's funny!

hi tygab,

dawn419 left me a pm to pop in on this thread, (she stays up much later than i do and i always check my pm's at lunch the next day). we own a high end aquarium maintenance service. i didn't comment at lunch because it seemed that you were already doing everything in you'r power to control the problem. kudos to you, most home aquarists wouldn't have a clue. i wouldn't worry too much about you'r corals, in stressful events they usually "pull in tight" and ride out the storm unscathed. we keep our reef tanks at 80 deg year round, also a more realalistic specific gravity, as far as salinity goes, and have never had a problem. (sg @ 1.0125) higher temp and salinity have worked for us for well over 10 yrs....

i also wanted to mention that i have livestock envy....
we are dying for a couple of alpacas for our own wool and spinning purposes...

cheers,

doc
