Would the heated dog bowl be ok for the peak of winter when it's -20 celcius everyday for 1-2 months....or should I get something else? After much tought I want a prefab one because I don't want to worry about it and it's safety...to me it's a good investment, but it has to work for our temperatures!! any thoughts?

I bought it - from Berry Hill in St. Thomas, Ontario. Available on line - NOT cheap this year!!!

All enclosed. The ladies LOVE to stand on it and warm their feet when I'm cleaning the waterer ...

Is it the ones that are made of metal?

Yes, that's the one. Works VERY well and has lasted.

I saw it online at ''ranch cunicole'' wich is the closest to me...I'll call them for a price...I guess I'll need to buy a waterer that's ok with it too, mine is plastic....or else I have one of those black rubbery open bowl...wonder if that would be ok...

Fred's Hens :

Dog dishes worked for me down to about -25C. After that, they still worked, but a thin layer of ice formed, but nothing a little poke couldn't take care of during chores.

ok good to know, that would just be easier for me since there's a store that sells them near me, 45$ canadian, the big blue one.

At night it gets sometimes colder but I wont leave it on anyways, waste of electricity....
