Aww yes. Thanks for asking.
Everyone has got in on the play on top of Tassels game and everyone except Geronimo went under her for the night.
Geronimo must have super insulating fluff because she never seems to need much extra warmth. She slept snuggled up to Tassels but not under her.
I have seen all 4 on camera this morning so they survived the night.
My next challenge is moving them into the coop. From a Marek’s vaccine perspective they are (as of today) as protected as they are going to be so time to relocate them. But I am not sure how.
My thinking was to move the entire crate with Tassels and babies inside, put it in the coop, leave her locked in the crate for one more night and then let her decide what to do.
The problem is it is damn heavy. Not sure I can do it solo and I won’t have anyone to help until tomorrow.
I could take Tassels out, move the crate and then put her back in. But I worry that is many moves in a short period of time. I suppose I could just put her in the coop and let her figure it out without the crate entirely.
I am a bit torn on what is best to do for the little family.
In good news though the rats are gone (might write an article about that experience) so I am feeling more comfortable about the safety of the little ones.

That would be what I'd do too.

Probably no harm. Just feels a bit cramped for Tassels.
She doesn’t use all the space available to her and it is larger than the nest box she chose to be broody in, but I feel like maybe she would want to stretch her legs a bit.

Well against the odds I did it!
It isn’t really very heavy. About 30lb/13.5kg with occupants. The problem is that it is too big to get your arms around to carry any distance.
So I improvised: the Tassels carriage.

Looks like she should harness a small pony so she can go visiting!

It was a bit bumpy and the passengers complained a bit, but they settled once in the Chicken Palace. I think Tassels recognized it as home.

I think I will let them be there enclosed for 24 hours before opening up to let them explore.
I am very curious to see how the others - including the other broody ladies - react to the peep-peeps.
They are an active and noisy bunch.
Now I have pulled that off I will stop hogging your thread MJ. Thanks for letting me share.
