Heating a 5 gallon bucket with plastic nipples on bottom?

Quote:
I just bought this yesterday and I hope it keeps the nipples from freezing--I'm not sure as it's a de-icer not a heater. I hope that the water that is warmer inside the bucket will keep the nipple defrosted enough to prevent them from icing over. I felt TERRIBLE when I found the nipples had frozen overnight without any de-icer last week. If this doesn't work my next option is the 2 gallon heated bucket: http://www.google.com/products/catalog?oe=utf-8&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:eek:fficial&client=firefox-a&q=heated+bucket&um=1&ie=UTF-8&cid=4559078082812675403&ei=S47gTO7pGYP7lweb6vHPAw&sa=X&oi=product_catalog_result&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CB4Q8wIwAA#
Or
maybe a water heater, we'll see.

PuckPuckPuck: I have a picture on my BYC page.

Its so funny how chicks instinctively know how to use these. My chicks are just about 4 weeks old now and have been using a 1 gallon water jug from Walmart since they were just 2 days old. The just is one of those clear ones with the screw on lids. I put the nipple through the lid. You can get these nipples on ebay 10 for $5 or so.
BEWARE
You will need to poke a hole in the bottom to let air in. The nipples are one way only and do not let air in, so once the suction becomes too great in an air tight container, water stops coming out.
