The plastic high sided containers tend to really hold in the heat. If you're brooding indoors it should be fine, but their behavior will tell you a lot. If they huddle under the heat emitter, they are cold. If they are as far from it as they can get, they're hot. If they are cruising around making soft beep-beep noises and picking at their food, they are juuuusst right.
So maybe get both a 50 and 100watt and see how they go with the 50 first?
