I bought a heat lamp bulb,175w at the feed store this week for when my chicks hatch. My DH has this round metal clip on light that he uses in his shop. The edge of the clip light says
"WWP 660W 250V" Is it safe to use this with the bulb I bought or will it catch on fire? The feed store closes soon and I've got chicks piping. If it isn't safe, what other watt bulb can I use? The temp in my garage is about 85F.

Should be ok with that wattage, but just a word of caution to be careful with the clamp style lamps. They are notorious for getting knocked over, or the adjustable portion of the clip becomes loose and allows the lamp to fall over. My suggestion is to secure it with a chain to prevent it from falling over or being knocked over.

the 175W bulb is okay or using the other regular bulbs?

And thank you about the clip information. I didn't think of it.
