So Honeynut is probably about 6 weeks old by now. I have the heat lamp hanging several feet over her tub so it's not immediately nearby or super intense. Is it about time to turn off the lamp? She's an only chick, she has no friends of siblings to snuggle up to. Should I only have the lamp on at night? I moved it up even higher because she was starting to pant off and on. I don't want her to be too cold.

She’s likely fine without. If you are worried you can try turning it off during the day first.
Many ppl have the lamp off by 4 weeks. The general idea is once they have all their adult feathers they can self regulate body heat.
Chicks will also be very vocal if they are cold, so you’ll know.

Yes, she is in my house. I don't have a temperature gauge, so I don't know the exact temperature. I turned off the light before I posted, now she's just kinda sitting in a big puffy feather ball, sorta sleeping, but still standing.

I’ve had my light off this week in the house, mine in the house are 4 weeks old, I keep my AC at 78 but in my office it gets warmer because I work in there and my computer is a graphics beast lol also it’s a small room and there is another brooder with a lamp on, plus an incubator lol!

But I think I would have it off anyway, they don’t seem cold at all, but then they do have friends. They are almost fully feathered. I moved some outside last week. It’s in the 90s.

I def would turn it off at 6 weeks even though she’s alone but you know what? You could switch the bulb out - why not just give her a normal light so she gets plenty during the day time? And then flip it off at night so she’s on a schedule?

We give ours a normal light sometimes if they are in the house extra long. But I just replaced the bulbs in my office it’s very bright now.

At 6 weeks she should be fully feathered so she doesn't require a heat source. You can give her a stuffed animal to snuggle with or an unbreakable mirror to keep her company.
