These are the ceramic heat bulbs that I use! They emit no light. My quail chicks are quiet in the brooder from the time they are 24-36 hours old with these bulbs that emit heat, but no light.
I also found a metal adjustable lamp stand that is awesome for adjusting and reducing the heat over the first 3 weeks of life.
