Check out all my beautiful hedemora fluffy butts!

Oh a nice solid black one. How do you like them so far?

They're more cuddly and smart than the barnyard mixes from the moment they zip. They are very very fluffy and have been healthy and don't seem to mind the incliment weather in the least. They can still top the juvenile pecking order, even though they're a bit smaller. I hatched four chicks and only one came out a pullet unfortunately, so I'm trying again with some icies. I'm going to keep one roo and give/sell the rest. They seem way too rare for the oven. I love them so far.

The solid black one is the pullet. She has feathered feet and a white comb right now (red later of course). She is also far fluffier than the rest.

That's great! I had quite a few roosters hatch as well and unfortunately next year I think the spares will be raised for meat. I just can't find a market for just roosters and I don't want them inferior homes either. It's a pity because they're all good and beautiful.

Unfortunately I think that may be their fate too. I have some medievalist friends who may be interested but without a hen to sweeten the pot, those roosters are likely to go the way of the freezer.

Well, I'm pretty well settled in my new home here in SE Missouri and I'm lovin' it! Now, I just need to populate my backyard with some chickens! I REALLY want a small flock of Hedemoras. Do any of you have any to sell or can you refer me to someone who might? I don't have an incubator yet but if absolutely necessary, I will buy one if only hatching eggs are available. Thanks in advance. ;-)

PM'd you.

Hi! I'd like to add some Hedemora to my flock also, do you know where I can get hatching eggs or chicks? Thank You!

Hi all! I have a pair of Hedemoras and will hopefully be selling hatching eggs in the spring. I also have Swedish Flowers hens, and a Mottled Ameracauna trio, plus a few other birds.
