hedges to protect my birds

My quail pen is 30ft long and the cold snow/wind here in michigan can make it hard for my birds. I want a hedge or something to block the wind but still looks nice. I want hedge thats about 10-12 feet tall and grows really fast any ideas on what kind of shrubs of hedge plants I could us? Thanks

I would check with your local extension office.. Also look into hybrids shrubs as they are made to grow very quickly.. Good Luck

Pine trees are nice but take time to grow.
