Heght for a silkie run?

So i have some wire that is 36" tall and i thought that i could make the run larger by only making it 18" tall instead of 36". So do you think that 18" will be tall enough for a run?

Will it have a roof?

Yes wire roof slightly arched to about 20" high. Picture very large wire cage 6'x8'x 18" high

Hmm- there are some cons I'd like to mention with an 18" high run:

You can't get in there to do some maintenance very easily.
Silkies do enjoy jumping around, even though they don't fly. They will hit their heads when they jump.
You might consider doing part of it in shorter height and giving them an area with taller headroom????

I'd go with the taller stuff myself. If this is easily set up and taken down, you might give it a whirl and see if you are happy with it. I am ALWAYS moving fencing around for my chickens- this is one of my hobbies, LOL!
