(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Knitting and crocheting, photography, painting, camping, and spending time with family.

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We are a family of 7 and live on just over 1/3 acre, so our chickens have always been free range in our rather large back yard, until this year. In all we have had 35 hens and 6 roosters in the past 8 years including our current flock. We lost most of our hens and chicks to racoons over the course on one summer a few years ago. We decided to not replenish that flock and took a couple of years off from having chickens once the remainder died off. We decided, this year, to start again. We built a bigger coop and a fenced in run. Our flock still gets to free range in the rest of the yard, occasionally. Our current flock of 13 is about 7 months old and 9 are laying regularly with 2 of them showing signs of being broody. We hope to hatch some chicks in the spring!

(7) Bonus: How did you find BYC, how long have you known about BYC, and what made you finally join our awesome community? :D
Actually, I found your group when I searched for a type of rapter that went after our hens today. A chat came up calling out the type that I saw. I decided to join to learn more about solutions for protecting our flock.
