(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens? I got my first chickens back in 2008/2009 I had Silver and golden laced Wyandottes, Chicken math....I ended up with 55 chickens which were WAY WAY WAY too Many.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now? I currently have three chickens. Two Black Astralorps and a barred rock. (One is 4 years old and two are three)
(3) What breeds do you have? Currently Astralorps and a barred rock. None are laying so I ordered some Cream Legbars, Excheckors, and Andalusians for full size. I really love Bantams so I ordered some Bantams Green Queen Easter Eggers in addition to the other chickens.
(4) What are your favorite aspects of raising backyard chickens? Chickens are fascinating. I love how they are related to T Rex. I love watching them. I love when they are friendly.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies? Quilting. I rescue and transport animals. Last April I went with an international team to rescue animals left behind in Ukraine. I volunteer with Florida Urgent Rescue
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share. Currently, I have A special Needs Catahoula Leopard Aussie dog who is my foster - She has her own Instagram @Luna_catahoulaleoparddogaussie; I have a pitbull Piglet who I am fostering and training so she can be adopted her IG is Piglet_Coast2Coast. I have two old girls Ruthie a Boxer Pit mix and a 17 yr old Cocker Lilly Lou Chocolate Sprinkles plus 5 cats all of whom found me and are rescues.

I found Back Yard Chickens just before I first ordered chicks. I just saw I have some thirteen-year award in my notifications. I haven't been active since 2011?
