I've come back after a few years. I have moved from chickens to Quail. I've already incubated and had a 90% hatch rate on my first try with a new Incubator. I came home one day to my light off and 10 dead baby quail, I got out the hair dryer and revived every one of them. I have done this many times with baby ducks and chickens, they may look dead but there is hope. I just locked.down the incubator today for my 2nd hatch this winter. I need to.learn about colors of eggs versus color of chicks or if that is even a thing. Presently living in WI my quail are living in my basement as winter crept in too quick for adequate living winter space.

Hello! What type of quail are they? I know with Coturnix quail, the color of egg won't correlate to the color of chick. Pretty much the only way you are going to know what colors they are is to have them in separate breeding groups by feather color, and even then, their genetics will have to be fairly true to breed true.

Best wishes to you, your quail and upcoming hatch!
