Hello All....... again

I registered in 10-09 and introduced myself then, but I haven't posted since then. I just lurked and read up on chickens. Tomorrow, is my big day. I'm adopting a rooster from my local shelter. He's a very friendly and HUGE red rooster with a short green/black/blue tail. Probably a mix. Hens are to come, but I thought I'd snatch this guy up since his time is up and I'd hate to see this guy get put down. I'm looking forward to chatting with you all and learning all I can. I'll ask questions in the appropriate topic.

Welcome back! I'm glad to hear you're rescuing Mr. Roo from an untimely death--hopefully he'll end up being a great guy for you! Rescues are the best. My first chicken was a rescued rooster, too, and now I've been into chickens for eleven years! I'm sure you'll find him some nice hens, even if it means you have to raise them up from chicks.
