I had my girls in for the day because i wasn't home, they are in a large horse stall, tons of water, and food, i let them out for an hour, and they went back in as it got dark, one chicken is acting like shes overheated, panting with wings held away from the body, ive gotten ten eggs out of ten hens, and today I did as well, but it is not that hot here, and wasn't in the stall either. Ive noticed her comb has not been as red as the others, but acts pretty well, always roaming around and shes the one that follows me all over like a dog when she's out. no one else is acting off at all.. they are about 22 weeks old, ISA browns, I thought about worming them but didn't because i don't know what wormer to use since i haven't seen any worms..any ideas on what would make her act like that? she went in to bed before the others also..

update, i got ten eggs today out of ten hens, but the hen i mentioned above that was not acting right, i just went out and she had two soft shell eggs where she was sitting .. up until today she was acting fine.. all the eggs ive gotten are excellent hard shells.. how would she have an egg that is normal then two with thin shells in the same day? it was her for sure, because its dark and she is still in the same place she was when i left two hours ago.. plenty of oyster shell and Layena purina layer food.. shes also getting rooster booster and Strike 111..flax seeds mixed in .. all the others on the same diet. no issues. they have been laying for about five weeks now.

Hi there! How is she doing today? Do you think she could be overheating from dehydration? Even if the water is out, maybe she is just not drinking enough. Mine were hot yesterday and frozen blueberries in electrolyte water seemed to do the trick.

I am brand new to this though so I'm hoping this bumps your thread up for one of the experts to see. Good luck!
