My name is SarahE. While I have owned animals, and birds, all my life, I'm new to the poultry scene. I'm going to be purchasing ducks soon, and am getting everything ready and together for their arrival. I'm looking to get Ancona ducks, they're absolutely gorgeous and have great egg production I've heard, which is what I'm looking for.

I found this group through google, learning about ducks, and was excited to join a new forum!

I have a large number of animals, including:
10 goats
5 dogs
4 parrots
3 sugar gliders
a snake
some fish
and soon some ducks!

I'm excited to be here, and can't wait to learn more.

Welcome Sarah interesting that you noted so many dogs, etc. but NO cats. Is that an oversight? I think that is great!! Most people will go down the list and mention a couple dogs and a ton of cats- some inside, some out. The cats usually eat the chicks but, they can always buy more.

You are very correct, it was a big oversight. I have 3 cats, 1 at my dad's house, two with us. The cats are all indoors, and would never be allowed near the little ducklings. <3

That being said, 2 of my 5 dogs are my friend's dogs I'm watching for a few months. I personally own 3, all poodles.
