I am a new chicken owner. I received 15 little fluff balls April 3rd, 2017, I watched over them, kept them warm, fed, watered and clean until time for them to go outside in their coop. Whew! It was a long couple of months, but they all made it nicely. I refer to Backyard Chickens on a regular basis to ask questions and see other's answers. This has been a great site for me to get my questions and doubts answered by many. I am happy to be a member. Today, I have noticed one of my Buffs is limping ...it started as a little limp last night after they came in from free ranging. I checked it then, thinking that she may have gotten a thorn in her foot...but nothing. So this morning she is limping worse and holds it to her while standing on the good foot. I picked her up and closely looked at her foot and leg. There is nothing there, no bleeding or other injuries, so im thinking, she may have just sprained it...the other girls are not bothering her either. So I'm guessing I will just have to keep an eye on her and hoping she will mend on her own. (she is also eating and drinking and her crown is a nice red color.) I am 58, retired and I love my chickens. I just started getting eggs last week..7 to be exact so far. Six of them are from the same bird, one is from a different bird, because it was in a different nest. (they are 19 weeks old now)

Glad you joined us.
