Well I have been on a couple of threads already and I've enjoyed seeing everyone's chickens and learning new things here.

This is my first time raising chickens. I have 4 Australorps, 3 Cream Brabanters, and a Silkie. The Silkie and 3 of the lorps have turned out to be roos. So the adventure is probably going to continue with me finding new homes for 2 of my boys and trying to get a few more girls.

One of my brabanter hens, Kaylee, has a cross-bill but she seems to be keeping up with her sisters. Fortunately she's the friendliest of the bunch so if she needs extra help down the line it will make my life easier. Does anybody have any ideas about things I can do to help her out? I've already found keeping the feed deep makes it easier for her to eat.

welcome to BYC. I recall seeing a thread some time back on BYC of advice for keepers of cross billed birds. I know they suggested heaping up the feed so the bird had a better chance of connecting with it. But sorry I cannot recall anything else.

You may want to use the search function to check for articles on cross billed chickens.

Yeah we definitely found that helps her. I will give the search function a go and see what turns up :caf
