Hello everyone.... Glad to be a member....
(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
We are pretty new to chickens, only a couple of months and we are really liking it. They are fun and the kids get a kick out of taking care of them and watching them.
(2) How many chickens do you have right now?
My husband actually started with 12 Rhode Island Red hens then got a couple of bared Rock (sp)... My youngest son found the cutest little rooster, (although I don't know what breed he is) and so now I have several Batums..
(3) What breeds do you have?
Batums, Rhode Island Red, Barred Rock, and some unknown
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Found this site while searching/researching what kind of rooster I have. its great
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
I work a lot, and have three kids at home. One grown. I love to garden and read as well
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
I am married with 4 children, Jake-9, Tim-13, Elizabeth - 15 and LeeAnne who is 18.
We have one dog. A Boxer named Dixie Anne, two cats, Hard to tell how many fish and 17 chickens.
We both work full time, I am an accountant and live in Virginia
