Good Morning Peeps! I am not sure if this is what I am suppose to do...I don't often post in threads, mostly read them when i am looking for info. But it will be nice to have like minded people be able to help me when I have questions. Me and my hubby took on 6 chickens and 2 roosters (a sexing mistake) last year and it has been a fun learning experience to say the least. Needless to say the roosters have since found a new home after their very mean treatment of the girls. Our chickens are a work in progress as we go along, seems like I am forever making changes for our chicks care. This year we added 6 more chicks and 2 ducks. And I fear will be rebuilding the coop Glad to be here. Brightest Blessings

Hello there and welcome to BYC!

So glad you could join our community! Sorry you had to rehome roosters. Yes, they can be a handful sometimes.

Good luck establishing your flock this year with more birds. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. Welcome to our flock!

Welcome to BYC! Raising chickens is always a learning process, even when you've been going it for years. What kind of chickens do you have?

Thanks for the welcome!!!

We have: 5 Buff Orpington's, 1 Rhode Island Red, 2 Amber Sex link's, 2 Black Sex link's, 2 Amber Leghorn's and our ducks are Peking's. Funny thing from the get go all I wanted was barred rocks and I have been unable to get them locally as of yet. Oh well someday my chicks will come! :-)

That is a great flock of layers. The Sex Links especially are egg laying machines. Good luck with your flock.

Good luck with your poultry raising adventures, and I hope you find everything you need to know. Don't forget to take a look at BYC's very useful learning center (If you haven't already)! The learning center as well as the forum should answer your questions! There is always something new to learn! Glad to have you here! See you around with the flock.
