Hi everyone,

My name is Erik and I have been crusin' the pages here for a few months. This resource has been VERY helpful, so I thought maybe it was time I joined the fray. My family just got 4 chicks last April and they are now just over three months old. They have been outside in their (almost finished) coop for a few weeks and are doing great! We have a Buff Orpington, an Easter Egger, a Black Australorp and a Silver-Laced Wyandotte. We are looking forward to sharing their trials and tribulations with all of you!
Thanks for having us!

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Welcome to BYC, Erik! Glad you decided to join our flock. A lot of us were lurkers before finally joining. You have a very nice mix of breeds. The Black Australorp is my favorite standard breed; very hardy, calm and gentle, and the best layers of the standard brown egg laying breeds. I also keep some Buff Orpingtons in my flock for their beauty, and friendly, gentle temperament; and some Easter Eggers because they are my granddaughter's favorite chickens. She loves the colored eggs. Good luck with your flock.

Welcome to the family, I am a little new here myself. I love the Wyandotte breed. The are so beautiful birds. I'm glad you posted that breed. It reminded me of my dads old flock. I may have to look some up and try to get some. Thanks
