Hello!
I've been living on a farm for the past 6 years, but we haven't owned any livestock until now. This summer we're getting a few chickens and 15 poults! I'm very excited but very new, so I apologize if any of these questions are silly or too vague!
I have lots of information for the chickens but less so for the turkeys.
Im receiving 12 mini white and 3 orlopp bronze next week and they will be 1 day old.
When it comes to food, I'm able to get 26% protein crumbles very readily, but I've ready that turkey feed should have higher protein, will this be sufficient for poults?
Do they need grit right away? Is that something I should buy from a reputable place or can I shoved some sand/dirt from around my farm?
Is there anything else I should add to their feed in the next few weeks beyond the crumbles?
Thank you so much in advance!!!
