Hello, and welcome to BYC. Keep an eye on your foot, and if it worsens see a doctor. Rooster's spurs can carry some nasty bacteria.
I feel that. His spurs aren’t very long but he’s a good sized guy (maybe 5-7lbs) and really packs a punch. He loves to get you when you’re not watching. He’ll come running across the yard like a quiet velociraptor and get you when you least expect it! He got me really good the other day in our mini pig pen. I landed in the mud. Good times….

Our rooster only likes my wife. Even then, sometimes he gets in an ill mood. Every morning when I let them out, my rooster (Wise One) is in full protect mode. He will chase me back to the house and if I keep my back turned he will 'attack' me. I always wear pants and shoes with them so it doesn't hurt. However I've learned to not turn my back to him.

Other things I do is try to catch him and hold him into submission (head down) to teach him that I'm above him. It works somewhat. But mostly because he knows I'm going to hold him and he doesn't like being held. I even carry gloves to be ready for him.
