Hi everyone,
I haven't got around to introducing myself, though I have been on the forum for about 11 weeks, ever since purchasing three peeping fluffy things in a shoebox late last year. My life has changed. Never had chickens before and am totally in love with these hilarious creatures.

I live in Melbourne, Australia on a suburban block with an overgrown garden which is now a chicken paradise for my girls. I raised them for 6 weeks in a brooder box in my office... here they are asleep on my husband's lap (Mabel, Ethel and Princess Glenda):

And here is their palatial enclosure:

They also get free-range of the front garden:

Oh, so beautiful!

Thanks for all the help so far on this site. Its been brilliant!

G'day and so nice to meet you. Welcome to the Backyard chickens flock. BYC has a large Aussie community - the more the merrier. And a thread "Australia, six states and one funny little island," in case you get home sick.

Your girls are lovely.

Welcome t BYC

Nice pictures!

:)

They look perfectly spoiled.

Oh and try to meet Teila. She is from the sun stealing clan...down there somewhere.

Welcome!

Aaaaw, your girls are adorable!

I hope you enjoy being a BYC member. There are lots of friendly and very helpful folks here so not only is it overflowing with useful information it is also a great place to make friends and have some fun. Unlike non chicken loving friends, family and colleagues, BYC’ers never tire of stories or pictures that feature our feathered and non feathered friends

Hi everyone and Teila, my fellow Aussie :)

Nice to meet you all and enjoy/share chicken tales. Yes, my girls are spoilt! We have a neighbour nearby who has chooks and doesn't even given them names... he would think I'm crazy if he saw me lying on my lawn singing to my girls, ha ha.

LOL!

My neighbours gave up on me a long time ago!
