good catch, I missed the leg color. I have never paid much attention to GDW, just a guess...

hey it was a good guess, I have my own little OCD type issues which includes leg color issues. we all have our little hang ups that is just one of many for me. You know how it goes.

Hows the heat up there today? I'd call but my phone may have finally given up, Steph took it away from me and went to the ATT store. I think I'm getting a new one, and not by choice.

Oh, we are having a cool spell come through, only hit 104 here so far instead of 112. Its about time you replaced that daggum phone...I should have caught the leg color though, still have those 'duh' moments, lol...

BB Red Hatchlings! Two days old. This was my very first hatch, and the first offspring for one of my pairs. I had 7 out of 8 hatch!! They are doing great, and are very entertaining to watch.

I agree on the hen...However,the color is too broken up and pretty off for pure GDW.I vote something else in there as well.

the problem with Golden Duckwing is the fact it is a cross of Silver Duckwing and BB red to start with. In order to meet the standard the hen is a silver duckwing and teh male needs to carry both red and Silver genes for hackle saddle wing bow and wing bay. A GDW can not breed 100% true anyway.

So, if I keep my BB Red cockerel and I have Silver Duckwing Pullets, I will get GDW chicks? Nice!

You can make the cross either way but to get proper colored pullets you use the SDW male over BB red hens. This will result in SDW pullets and GDW males. By using the BB red Male over SDW females you will get BB red pullets and GDW males.

well, anytime you cross breeds, or even colors, you normally end up with nothing more than colorful yard art. But, the first one resembles closest a lemon blue oegb, and the second one a blue.

Just sold a silver Duckwing rooster to a nice young guy who'd never heard of OEGBs. He's here in Mesa, AZ. He'd like to find some hens. The rooster is seven weeks old. Doesn't need to be show quality, he just wants pets. He sent me some of the cutest pictures of the rooster sitting on a table in the house and in a tree outside. He also got an EE pullet. The pictures he sent are precious. These are spoiled chickens!
Anybody with OEGBs nearby, I'd like to help him out, but I only have two little hens and two more Roos.

Hey everyone. New to this thread. I just got 6 Mille Fleur OEGB's, and have a lot to lean about them. I will post some pics later for the experts to tell me if they are ok or not. They are still young, that I know. I got 2 cockerels, and 4 hens. I am hoping they are decent enough and I did a good job on the purchase. I live in the upstate of SC. Nice to meet all of you.

Aslo I got this little hen from a friend who said she was a OEGB. Is this correct, and what color is she. Or is she just a mutt. Thanks
