Really both roos the second one is the same age. I was hoping the comb and thickness difference in the legs would make the splash (thanks for that I had no idea) a hen.

Just wondering. How long does it take for a Rooster to get his tail in? Mine seem to be taking their time growing the feathers. I can tell the feathers are coming in. Its just taking soooo long.

I was wondering the same thing all the roos on here have amazing tails. I am not sure how old mine are though I was told 8 weeks but they look older to me?

Here is one at 5 months old. I just hope his tail gets bigger.

Maybe he just has some more growing to do. I had one that never grew much of a tail. I don't want that again.

This cockerel is seven months old.Alot of the tail is dependent on the breeding. Most of our cockerels tails will finish at six months and then we will dub them. Most breeders wont dub until the main sickle feathers are finished out.

I already posted this in the wanted section but thought I might get better results here. One of my hens went broody and I would really like to get some Spangled OEG eggs to put under her. Or maybe some splashed. Please let me know if you have any and the price. Thanks.

I recently bought a spangled hen at the local auction. She was with other spangles but has been free ranging since she's been here. That's been about 2 weeks and she's laid 3 eggs in the past few days. I do have a spangled roo that she roosts with and hangs with in the mornings, though I'm not really sure where she goes during the day. If you want her eggs I can send them for the shipping? Probably $7. I also have some blue OEGB hens that think they are hiding their nest in a building, but again they free range (I'm in the process of making pens for them), so it's hard to say if they are pure or mixed. The only OEGB roos I have are black or lemon blue, but I do have some other breeds that roam around out there right now. Again, I could send their eggs for shipping, there are 5 of those. So 8 eggs total if you want them

pamperedpoultry has spangles and barred OEGB and often offers eggs though, she sells them relatively cheap too. You might want to check with her if you aren't interested in mine

I got my first oegb this spring. I wound up with two bbred cockerels and a bbred hen and splash hen. Will a cross of the bb red/splash make a blue red?

I believe so, I know I've been told I could use a blue/red cock with my blue girls since I was having such a hard time finding a splash or blue cock. You can always try it and see what you get

Anything 'black' on the rooster should turn to blue on the chicks since black X splash = blue
