Hello Backyard Chickens Community!!

I just became a chicken mama 2 days ago! I live in southeast Michigan. I have 2 Silkie chicks, Miss. Dolly (white) and Miss. Betty (black). I hopped on board so I could learn more about my sweet chicks. Currently Betty has a protruding vent. I'm hoping with she will be ok. She seems to be eating and drinking just fine. I have been reading a few Q & A's and may try some coconut oil. So glad to be a part of this community

It sounds like your chick needs help, I would suggest making a post about her protruding vent in the emergency forum section. Chickens get any chance they can to bully each other, so if Dolly starts pecking at Betty's vent she could pull it out. Silkies are not the most healthy breed so watch Betty closely! And I hope everything will turn out okay!
