Hello BYC members!

Hello BYC friends! I'm new to your community and wanted to make my first post! :)

My name is Stephanie and I live in Arkansas with my 3 little chickies. I'm a first time chicken owner so this is all so new to me! AND ALL so exciting!!!!

I have Silkie/Frizzle mixes that approximately 3 weeks old and they are named Laverne, Shirley and Wanda.

I currently at 3 silkie mix chicks now, but I am picking up 3 Cochins in the next day or so! They will be little hatchlings so I will have them separated.

So, as far as my breeds go- It will be Silkie/Frizzle and Cochins! :)

I'm kind of following the new member questionnaire thing and it wants to know what my favorite aspects of back yard chicks are...well, since I'm so new, I don't have an answer for that yet! I do know I bought a super cute chicken coop and I'm building them a large run soon. They're still too young to go out in the coop.

Some of my other hobbies include spending time with family/my dogs and friends. We are total outdoorsy folks, so I love to walk, run, workout, paddleboard, rollerblade, horse back ride, all kinds of things!

I work for Benefit Cosmetics and I'm a retail account manager for them. I have about 16 Ulta doors that I visit and assist them with their services at the brow bar and their cosmetics department.

I found out about the BYC community just by searching generic chicken things.

I can't get my videos to upload, and I'll have to get some better pictures of them. its yucky and rainy out so I will keep you updated!
Welcome to BYC Stephanie, have you met my wife well you should, I think she has her own coop in Ulta, only place she will shop for that stuff :gig :lau...

Hope you enjoy the forum ask any questions you have.

SO! Here are some photos of my chickies! It only took forever to organize, sort and upload from my phone. Hahah.

So, I really think Laverne has coccidiosis and I plan to take her to the vet.

(I've only had them since April 19th and they are technically 4 weeks as of the 19th. May 10th they will be 6 weeks old! :) On Mother's Day.

But I fear Laverne has Coccidiosis only because ever since I've had her she acts sleepy. She just sits with her eyes closed and I noticed a little blood in their stool today. (Not sure who did it because they are all in the same tub for now). Tomorrow I plan to separate them in case Laverne is really sick. :*(

But, I am hoping whatever her little problem is, it is going to go away asap.

They're on Purina Medicated Crumble for chicks and I've added Electrolytes/Vitamins to their water. (I'm only giving them the vitamins until the 1 gallon is gone- then I'm putting them back on regular water).

Any ideas guys? Am I over-reacting? I have videos, but I think I'll save those for tomorrow.

Thanks! <3
