On a whim bought 12 adorable chicks from the farm next door. She was suckered into purchasing the entire shipment (125 day olds) when her feed store received a surprise shipment. Of course I had to go see them and well... now I'm a chicken momma.
I stumbled upon this site and it's been an incredible resource. All my chicks are still alive and thriving at just about 11 weeks. (I must be getting some good info so far.)
All my chicks looked exactly the same when I got them. All black with little bits of yellow on the underside. One in particular started to stand out. Yup, Im pretty convinced chickadee is a chickadude? I've been trying to reseach breeds and it's so overwhelming narrowing down the characteristics. Lets be honest, I'm still trying to get all the chicken lingo correct myself.
I don't really think I care what breed or crossed breed they are, I'm just getting obessed with trying to figure it out. Any guesses?
