Hello, BYC!

I've been haunting this site since 11/18, when we got our first two chickens (EE hen and an Asian Black (?) cockerel. We inherited them when we bought our chicken tractor. Added five more hens (Speckled Sussex, Dominique, New Hampshire, Gold laced Orpington, and an Appenzeller Spitzhauben/Cochin cross).

I have 3 kids, 8, 5 and 2, and 5 horses, 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a fish. We live on a 10 acre farm in Virginia. The chickens free range during the day, and I'm so fascinated by them! They're way less trouble than horses, haha!

Wish I'd already joined last week when our EE ate a bunch of orchard grass hay and ended up with an impacted crop, but she's better now, and I'm sure it won't be long until the next chicken-related havoc ensues. Happy to be here!
