Hello!

My name is Katherine and I am a newbie in the chicken world! I live in Eastern Washington and have two young sons. I found BYC while searching the web for info on chickens. BYC has been a wonderful resource in getting all of my chicken questions answered, so I decided I might as well "officially" join the community! I am expecting my first chicks in a couple of weeks & couldn't be more excited!

I'm getting seven chicks, all different breeds! I was first planning on only getting 3 or 4 but I had a hard time narrowing it down to just a few, lol. I ordered through a hatchery and am expecting to get a Black Australorp, Welsumer, Blue Ameraucana, White Plymouth Rock, Golden Comet and Blue Orpington.
