Hello. My family and I have 10 RIR chickens that we got in August 2020, first-time owners. 2 roosters, and 8 hens, all are growing healthy, and keeping them busy during the winter has been a joy. I like everything from watching their daily activities to understanding their behavior. In a futuristic perfect world, l own a bachelor farm called Rooster Rescue Ranch saving unlucky roosters, with everyone's blessings, loads of help to care for them, and tons of land to roam. In reality. I continue to work on gentling my roosters to tolerate one another and be nice to everyone in the coop-month number 6. My husband and I have 2 girls who make us happy. I dig chocolate, eating various types of food, yoga, and working with older people. The cats, the snakes, and the hissing cockroaches don't seem to mind the chickens but all have not officially met. We are looking forward to getting eggs soon. I look at BYC's post frequently to help prepare my family and I raise our chickens and have appreciated your advice, experience, and stories that all share.
