This is one of those places that I wonder why I hadn't signed up for months ago. We have 23 chickens and we love them all. Our house is a farm and an fruit orchard, we have 2 bunnies for breeding meat rabbits and are planning on getting goats for next year!
But our chickens are a Priority right now!
Our Flock has:
3 Road Island Reds(Beast Billy & Tom)
3 Barred Rocks(Lela Bush $ Beaker)
5 Ameraucanas(Maryland Mojo Redhead Jumper & Ewok)
1 Buff Orphington (Pot Pie)
1 White Cochin (Wookie)
2 Black Australorps (Ping & Pong)We think, we are not sure about Pong.
2 White Leghorns (the Doves)
1 Red Sex-Link (Chocolate Thunder)
1 Golden Sex-Link we think (Piper)We think She's a He D; But then she was also supposed to be an Orphington too, are the lighter colored ones Males?
3 Cuckoo Marans( The Stooges)
1 Black Minorca (Natalie)
All of are chickens are egg layers and we are hoping to sell mixed egg batches at our Local Farmers Market. I hope to have pictures of every body here soon too.
Chocolate Thunder, The Doves, and possibly Piper are going to new homes soon and possibly 1 or 2 of the Road Islands and Barred Rocks. We are looking for more Ameraucanas, some Welsummers and Penedesencas(rare breed with dark, dark eggs) But only in small numbers like 2 or 3 at a time. If anyone has any Information about where to purchase a few of these birds PLEASE let me know
I hope to learn a lot more about Chickens here and to possibly help others like others helped us
