Hello, can you guys tell me any info about these chicks

Hello,

First time chick owner and got these guys from Rural King around Labor Day.

I researched that they were from Hoover's Hatchery and some can be mistyped or cross bred in house mixes.

They were supposed to be:

*Silver-Sapphire Gem

This one seems right.

*Black-Dominique

Only one spot of white under left wing. Read that babies had a white dot on head and she never did. Also her beak profile is more curved and her face markings are not symmetrical (but that may just be a quirk with the single chick)

*Black with white markings-Asian Black

This chick did have a white dot on head which I think I read meant they used a barred variety in the mix?


*Tan with black tail feathers-Starlight Green Egg Layer

Couldn't really tell, seems to be a lot of variety in adults. Yellowbaby, orange legs

*Tan with white mottling-Assorted Egg Layer

Just a variety pack I think, couldn't really make it out. Was a yellow chick that had white wings pretty immediately. Maybe buff Orpington?

*Tan with chipmunk print-Americana

So I read that these are Easter Eggers and a chipmunk baby.

Also wondering if anyone can tell or guess on the sexes!

I had more questions on the 2 black chickens.

The pure black one (besides two white spots hidden under the wings) was said to have been a Dominique, but I just saw something that said they are only recognized as black and white? She is big and heavy comparatively to the others, more round.

And the small one with some sort of barring was an Asian black chicken that looks like a barred rock or Dominique?

You're correct - Dominiques only come in barred. The solid black would not be a Dom.

The small barred bird looks like a Dom. A pic of her comb will confirm that.

Let me look for better picks, but the pure black has like greyish feet. I think she has a single comb.

The barred bird's comb is kinda small and close to skull. Pretty nondescript so far.

Let me see if I can find better pictures.

The barred pullet is a Dom. She has a rose comb.
