(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes I am, but my husband had some experience as a kid. We bought our first 3 chicks the day before Easter Sunday. We bought our second 3 the following weekend, so that's just shy of 1 month ago.

White Silkie, Gold Laced Cochin, Mottled Houdan, Frizzled Olive Egger, Americana, Smooth Olive Egger
(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Searching for info about how to be a good chicken Mama. We also lost a Custom Buff Chick about 1 week ago, so I was frantically trying to figure out how to save her.
(5) What are some of your other hobbies?
Running, hiking, yoga, painting, knitting, cooking, viticulture and enology etc.
(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We are a family of 5 with an old lady doggie who is turning 14 this summer and two 1 year old parakeets. We are living a high tech life with a bit of country . My daughter calls us yuppie hippies.
