Hello chicken friends!! From Polk county, FLA

Hi, welcome to BYC! pleased to meet you and thanks for joining us.
Thanks! I’m excited to join the chicken community. I think it will do a lot of good for our family, and it will connect me with my neighbors too when I get to the point of having a lot of eggs!
Howdy, Melissa :frow and Welcome to Backyard Chickens.

Happy :ya to have you here with us. Enjoy your time here at BYC!
A better choice for a brooder would be a Rubbermaid tub or a Sterilite tub, a car seat box is not big enough for the chicks.

Thanks for joining our community! :celebrate
thank you! … I have two car seat boxes , is that enough? I was thinking of cutting them and joining them together. Even then, we should have the coop before I even get the chicks and I’m in Florida, so they were going to be in the garage just so I could be closer to them and keep an eye. But after thinking about it maybe putting them in the coop would be best. I don’t really know how to add heat (if needed by April here) when there isn’t really a close electrical outlet.

Welcome to the coop! I use the Forums and Articles tabs at the top of the page to do research. You can get lost for hours. It's nice to know you are minutes away from getting help with questions and emergencies! I always check in the "What's New" section as well at the top of this page. This way I can read how I may have a similar question or help give some advice.
