Im not new to chickens, nor to this site. Had email issues & now that they are corrected i have a post to share with you/ get help from everyone.
Im currently raising my 3rd cluch of chickens/ 3rd year. I "renew" my flock every year or so. I raise my birds for meat AND eggs. The first time I ordered on line from My Pet Chicken.com. I was 98% happy with the order except for the rooster they sent. However beautiful he was a RIR & a complete rooster AKA butt hole! Made good soup however!
So now that I'm in an area where I can have more chickens (no roosters) Ive gone to Rural King & purchased some chicks. They are now about 3 to 4 months old, not yet laying. I think Id rather go back to a more reputable supplier than Rural King. From the birds I've purchased this time AND the last time I can't be certain what birds I actually have. Some are spot on like my Barred Rocks but the question here are the birds Ive posted. They were "labeled" French Wheaten marans. However when I Googled pictures they look more like wheaten ameraucanas. Hmmm? Was hoping for some insite as to what kind of birds these really are. They have feathered feet, lots of extra toes & a single comb. Can anyone PLEASE help me identify my chickens. Thanks & sorry for the long post.
