I'm looking for some input on types of sheep, goats, donkeys, cattle, ducks and turkeys. The sheep, ducks and turkeys will be for meat. Goat for milk and meat. The donkey a guardian for all my livestock.
Some suggestions would be well appreciated,
Waiting.........

I have nigerian dwarf they are pretty good for milk my breeder gets about 2 gal a day fom one goat they are about a yr old mine is still a baby.

Thanks but I don't have one yet, she is would we will be getting in a couple years and I can't wait. How's your pup?

We are thinking about buying Buff Orpington and Red Rangers. Probably a Buff Orpington Rooster, I have read that they are not a mean Roo, do you know anything about them?

Nubians are great goats for milk, but not so much meat. Boers are good for meat, but not so much milk
As for chickens, cornish rocks get big quick but don't lay great, so would be good for meat.
I, personally, don't eat my goats or chickens, so I raise pygmys and Silkies, but know several Nubians and know they're great milkers and have a friend with a Cornish who is HUGE!
As for buff orps, I've heard they're docile and don't tend to be mean. But I do have first hand experience with Cochins, and if you are wanting a bigger breed giant cochins are very large and very docile.
Good luck with whatever you choose!

Thank you, MadamPoofyBrow
I have read about the Boers and Pygmys and it is great that I have finally heard from someone that knows about them.
We have already decided on the Nubians and happy to hear that you like them too.
As for the Cornish hens I always thought they were small so that good to hear.
The Giant Cochins I will have to read up about but you said there big and docile and that's a good think. Now are these good meat or egg layers.
You have been so much help and I really appreciate you taking the time to give me your feedback :)
Until next time Cleo2019

Cochins are pretty good layers, and where I got mine said they were excellent meat birds. Now at only five months old, I can believe it! Those guys are HUGE!!!!! I've got four Cochin roos (One's a bantie though) and none are mean, and three live together with a Silkie roo and eight hens with no problem!
Glad I could help!
